There’s something incredibly special about autumn that makes us fall in love with this season year after year. We cherish the crisp, earthy nature of the air following the heat of summer. Bearing witness to the transformation of the trees as their leaves harmoniously shift in hue and create watercolor-like landscapes is simply breathtaking. Observing an autumn leaf delicately dancing in the wind as it falls downward to the ground below never gets old.

Most of all, we lust after the hoards of wholesome fruits and vegetables that are harvested during this dreamy time of year. Hearty, healthy cruciferous veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, turnips and Brussels sprouts are in season and are great sources of folate, carotenoids, phytonutrients, and vitamins K and C. And of course, we must mention the incredible selection of nutrient-dense “winter squash” harvested in late-summer and fall, which are full of fiber and offer a fair source of several vitamins and minerals. Superfoods such as cranberries, ginger, sweet potatoes and garlic are packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, are also their freshest in autumn. Simply amazing!
